Is there room to add my own items in the bug out bags?

Yes! we have left room in each bag for you to add your own personal items like clothing, prescriptions, personal hygiene products, etc.

Do you remove the product packaging?

No, we pack your but out bag with most of the products in their original packaging. There are two reasons for this. First, there is usually a ton of useful information about features, use, and instructions contained on the manufacturer packaging that are important for you to have. Second, this gives you the assurance that all the products you’re receiving from us are in a new condition.

So when you receive your bug out bag, don’t be concerned if it seems like there’s not a lot of room for your personal items. The packaging takes up a lot of space, so after you read & remove it, you’ll have quite a bit of room left for your personal items!

What if I have more than 4 people in my family, do I have to buy another bag?

If you have more than 4 people in your family, you have 2 options–you can buy another bug out bag for just that individual. Or, a more economical approach is to purchase  just a ‘booster kit’ that just contains all the essential items like food, water, apparel, utensils, etc. that another family member would need their own of in an emergency. Without having to purchase the items that the family as a whole can share (i.e–cooking set, emergency radio, etc) which are already in the family bag.

On each family bug out bag product page, there is a option to “add another person” to your kit for an additional fee. This option does not give you another “bag”, but you just add the kit to your family bag.

If you have more than 5 people in your family, you’re going to run into the problem of not having enough room for all your family gear in 1 bag, so we would suggest either adding another bug out kit to your order, or just purchasing a backpack a la carte and then adding your “booster kits” to that bag.

How do I know how much shipping will be?

Shipping will be calculated as you add products to your cart. At any time you can view the cart and see what the current shipping costs are for the products in your shopping cart.

When will you ship my order?

We will ship your order 3-4 days from the purchase date (Sundays & Holidays excluded). We ship either UPS ground, or USPS, depending on the size of the item.

How do I track my order?

You will receive an email from us that will have your tracking number. In addition, when you log into your account and view your order it will show you your tracking number.

What is your policy for returns?

We know sometimes people change their mind, so in cases of customer preference,  we will accept returns for 30-days after receipt of your item(s) as long as the packaging is intact (your dog fido hasn’t used it for a chew toy) and the product is unused. You will be responsible for the return shipping costs, but please contact us before returning the product so we can give you an RMA#.

In cases of damaged or faulty products–shoot! We hate it when that happens, sorry for the inconvenience. We would be happy to replace or refund the product, please contact us and we can instruct you how to proceed.

What criteria do you use to select your gear?

That’s a great question! It can practically be a full-time job sifted through the sea of retail and online stores and finding the great gear. Not to mention extremely expensive if you’re testing out the different options yourself.  We think this is one of our great value added propositions–we’ve scrutinized and tested a lot products for use by both adults and kids, and hand-picked only those that met our criteria.
